Welcome To My Miniature Painting Tutorials on How To Miniature Paint With an Airbrush and Brush
What is Opi Painting?
Welcome to my painting services on how to paint finely detailed miniatures. These tutorials are completely free on my YouTube channel.
On this blog I will share the products I use and recommend any that I find highly useful for me when I'm painting.
We'll go through the best paints to use for miniatures and what other miniature painters use as well as the miniature painting supplies needed.
Some painters also do a lot of commission painting and when you get to that level you can do it as a full time work. There are many that do such as. Next Level Painting.
There so a lot of YouTube painting channels that you can learn from. My channel 'Opi Painting' shows quick techniques to get your models out there ready to be played with.
I use the simple gloss and wash technique which is in my free eBook when you sign up. I show the technique in my tutorials too.
I want you to understand its not hard. It can look daunting when you see all these great miniature painters but remember they all started somewhere and with no prior skill.
This skill of miniature panting can be taught, learnt as your own pace.
My art teacher once told me it's not the talent that is born in the artist its the desire because through desire the hard work comes and the skill improves.
The hard work almost becomes more enjoyable as the hours of practice mount up as your confidence increases.
So where to start? What miniature paint set should I get? What miniature painting starter kit? When starting, I always say, keep it simple.
Get your basic paint set and get use to painting neat first. Don't worry about washes and shading, neatness is key first.
Once you have developed that steady hand then you can move onto gloss and washing and highlighting.
All of the professional miniature painters have a locked this method down of clean block colours followed by layers of shading. There are different styles of painting emerging too.
You have the Games Worskhop 'Eavy Metal' style then the Non Metallic Metal Style also known as NNM, which was first started from a French company called Confrontation. The Spanish painters then created their own style.
Do you want to paint miniatures but always felt intimidated. I remember I did when I first started. I took the plunge and kept going.
There were disheartening days and good days. I compared myself to others which now I realised was the greatest sickness you can give to yourself. Instead embrace and learn off the talent around you.
I leanrt of my local games workshop back when I was at school. My cousin was a manager of Games Workshop and he would teach me.
The in internet came, then YouTube came and changed everything. Everyone was sharing knowledge. This is where I found miniature painters like Next Level Panting, Angel Giraldez and many more great painters.
Here's a few videos I've done on painting tutorials. If you like the look of it then head over to my YouTube painting channel called Opi Painting.
